There are many roads that lead to your best vacation in the Smoky Mountains, and below are directions that will have you traveling a fast and easy Interstate or a slower but more scenic State Route.  The choice is yours; and we hope you have a safe and fun trip to the Smokies!

Directions to the Smoky Mountains, East Tennessee:

From The North:  Travel I-75 South toward Knoxville.
From the South:  Travel I-75 North toward Knoxville.
From The West:  Travel I-40 East toward Knoxville.

Proceed:

Take I-40 East to Sevierville / Kodak Exit 407.  Turn right onto Hwy 66 (Winfield Dunn Parkway) and follow for approximately 8 miles.  Turn left onto North Parkway.  You are now in Sevierville, approximately 7 miles from Pigeon Forge and 14 miles from Gatlinburg.

  • Through Sevierville:  Stay on North Parkway and travel through downtown.  North Parkway becomes US 441 Scenic South and will take you into Pigeon Forge.
  • To Pigeon Forge:  To avoid traffic and arrive in Pigeon Forge at traffic light #8 (Dollywood Lane), turn left off North Parkway onto Dolly Parton Parkway.  Travel approximately 1.2 miles and turn right onto Veterans Boulevard, TN-449.  Travel approximately 6.3 miles.
  • To Gatlinburg:  Follow directions into Pigeon Forge.  At traffic light #8, turn left and travel 6 miles into Gatlinburg.

From The East:  Travel I-40 West to US 321 South, Exit 440 toward Gatlinburg.  Merge onto TN-73 / Denton Road.  Turn right onto Wilton Springs Road / TN-73 / Major Charles L McGaha Hwy and travel approximately 2.25 miles.  Turn left onto US 321 S / TN-32 S / TN-73 W / Cosby Hwy and travel 6.8 miles.  Turn right onto TN-73 W / US-321 S / US-321 Scenic N / Hooper Hwy.  Travel approximately 17.5 miles to downtown Gatlinburg.
